That bottle is probably the most technologically advanced thing in there entire house. I know that around here we recycle but they probably lack the means to so it is a win win.

The next logical step would be to seal the bleach and water in the lower 3/4 of the bottle and install a super bright led in the bottle cap. Combine it with a capacitor and solar panel for night time use. I am sure it will work but that is where it begins to get expensive. Why solar panels are still so damn expensive I will never understand.

Another idea would be to use the technology in those glow sticks you see on the 4th of July at fireworks displays. Simply bend in half to activate a chemical reaction that produces light.

Cyalume-type light sticks have been around for many years, but they are still not cheap.
