Odd question Empty Odd question

Post  killerwill Sun Mar 11, 2012 8:53 pm

I haven't been collecting Voodoo pc stuff for long, since August of last year. But, has it always been this hard to find anything voodoo pc related? Theres only something on ebay every few weeks at best. I'm just curious, you all seem to have been at it a lot longer than me.

the only time I have seen a bunch of stuff on sale, was when they had their clearance of their voodoo Headquarter. And a couple of months after the ex-employees selling their voodoo stuff...

Good Luck

I have a ton of alerts set up on ebay for voodoo stuff. It haven't seen anything up either. I have been debating on just getting some of the good wallpapers I have and just ordering some custom mouse pads on ebay, there price isn't high.

I am afraid that I am one of the sellers, but not on eBay, and my Voodoo is officially gone . . .

When you're dealing with a product that is discontinued and has been for some years, your only option is the used market. And given that we're talking about computers, it'll become more and more difficult to secure a Voodoo, as I suspect some will have simply been recycled.

This is a pretty sad prospect for us collectors I guess. Well I got a idea to run by anyone who will help. I've noticed over the past 7 months that when one voodoo product is listed on eBay within the next three to five days a similar product is listed by someone else. I'm guessing this is due to the fact people want an appraisal or something they can under cut on price. So I'm thinking why don't a few of us list a handful of voodoo products (with unreachable reserves) on eBay and see what comes out of the wood work. I got two envy 133s that would make a good bait scenario since they are clean and like new. And I know you all got stuff that would bring out a bunch more people. Give me you alls thoughts on this.

Baiting aside. I just saw my scenario play out again with HP firebirds. One was listed two days ago and another one was listed this morning about two hours before the original one sold. It is an interesting scenario to see being played out. It really does cripple the market for ever finding something if you just have to wait for one to come up out of nowhere to bring one or two more out.

Killer: Stick in there. With perseverance, you'll eventually get what you're after. And just think how sweet the find will be after such a long hunt.

Just play the game carefully -- I have won some bids on eBay that I almost wish I had not!

Looks like my prediction was right again. Two envy 133s listed less than an hour apart. This is the first time in over a month a envy 133s have been put up. I got messages out to both, but from the listings they don't really know the specs since one didn't list any at all and the other copy and pasted one off of the voodoo website which I doubt is its actual specs. Btw does anyone know of a painted 133 for sale out there?

Did the Envy 133 come painted? It used a carbon fibre case, so I'm not sure if they were painted, other than by special order.

I do not think that I would have wanted paint over carbon fibre. Mind you, my bicycle frame is painted carbon fibre, but in that case the carbon serves a solely practical purpose, namely keeping the weight down. Carbon on a laptop is bling, pure and simple, and I would want to show it off!

Oh really? How much did they go for? I just took mine home - setting it up for my oldest daughter.

Supposedly we have a brand new Blackbird lost in the warehouse system. It's becoming something of a fable.

The one sold for 610.00 and the other for 775.00. These are a lot higher than I paid for mine. My best was 265 shipped. The only problem I have with them is that parts are impossible to find and from ft Collins they sell them for what they have in them which is alot.
