In situations like that, I try to accept the theory that the journey is greater than the destination (assuming there's a compelling mystery driving the story). In other words, I try to enjoy the ride for what it is.

Well, in that case I will be very interested to hear what you have to say about Prometheus.



I took my father to see The Amazing Spider-Man last Friday. It was much better than I was expecting -- no Spiderman 2, but Garfield was very good and definitely caught the smart-ass aspects of the character that were missing from the Raimi films. Becoming Spider-Man is an empowering change for Peter Parker, and this film shows his enjoyment of that. The action scenes relied more on wire work and stuntmen than cheesy CGI, and that was refreshing. Plus, it ended well.

From what I can gather, Prometheus is not compelling enough for me to care.

I'm still not sure about Amazing Spiderman. How does it rank against the first and third Spiderman?

Better than the third. Not sure about the first one -- I would have to think about that. Probably a bit below it. But all of that is a bit arbitrary, needless to say.
