The NEW Unofficially Official wallpaper gallery
All wallpapers are initially being uploaded in the highest resloution that is still known to exist. If you have a higher resolution please upload it and post a link here. Smaller resolutions will be uploaded after the gallery is setup.
If credit has not been given to the right person please let me know and I will correct it.
Sadly I haven't made any custom voodoo wallpapers recently but I decided to post these after seeing envy133lover101's old post http://h20435.www2.hp.com/t5/Notebooks/Pictures/td-p/56775 (apparently posted during my mia period) Here they are in all there high res glory (I think there was a second men one too though that I am missing)
Recently I got my hands on a lot more classic wallpapers and product images that can be used as wallpapers, They are mostly integrated into the gallery.
I am trying to come up with creative names for the untitled ones as I go along, Sometimes the file names help other times they don't, So if you created a wallpaper that is posted here are are not satisfied with the name feel free to suggest a new one.

Re: The NEW Unofficially Official wallpaper gallery
Well I was doing some digging today and I found some inspiration for a new custom wallpaper;
The biggest challenge will be the image. I may have to substitute it for another one.
Just got done messing around here is a preview/concept. Now I just need to select a photo as the original one is too grainy to use.
I am thinking about using a picture of the eden on it.
Ended up going with the 24k gold omen, see the first post for the final version

Mine is still under my desk --I use it for everything but gaming (which I switched to the laptop I bought a couple of years ago -- tragic when a two-year old laptop can outperform an older Voodoo, but that is the course of things.)

Re: The NEW Unofficially Official wallpaper gallery
I use the PS3 for gaming now, which is something you'd have never heard me say several years ago. I much prefer gaming on a PC, but I can't be bothered with the cost of keeping everything up to date.

Re: The NEW Unofficially Official wallpaper gallery
I played Fallout 3 on the PS3 and will probably play New Vegas on the same. By the way, if you have not tried Heavy Rain, give it a shot. I picked up a used one a while ago, but only got to playing it last week. Despite a few minor issues, it is probably the best adventure/interactive fiction game that I have ever played.

Have you played the Drake series? That is supposed to be one of the best action/adventure series available on the PS3.

Anything you could contribute would be greatly appreciated. (And btw if your reading this Thanks Roz.) Depending on what you have I might even add them to my wallpaper development kit folder

I have been using the the newly resurrected m:780 mostly for data recovery. I have done everything but game on it and it does not even even break a sweat.

Seamaster wrote:Have you played the Drake series? That is supposed to be one of the best action/adventure series available on the PS3.
I played both of them. I was unable to finish the first one because the combat got too difficult for me, even on the "Easy" setting. I am just not that good with a controller -- give me a mouse and keyboard any day. Unchartered 2 was easier since it emphasized more stealth, and the action seemed more forgiving. I have not finished it yet because I got sidetracked when another PC game came out (the Dragon Age expansion) but I will go back to it eventually.
Heavy Rain is not that kind of adventure game, however. It is not an action game. It is more of an adventure in the classic Sierra/Infocom mold -- that is why it is being called interactive fiction. It is more like playing a movie. That kind of thing has been done poorly in the past, but it works like gangbusters in Rain. You do directly control your character's movements, but other than that everything is handled with Quick Time Events (QTEs). The controller is used in interesting ways to simulate what your character needs to do. In a mundane example, at the beginning you get up and head to the kitchen. To open the refrigerator door, you swing the right stick to the left. To drink orange juice, you shake the controller up and down to shake the juice first.
Even in action scenes, you control things in the same way, responding to prompts on the screen by moving the controller, moving the stick one way or the other, or pressing (and sometimes tapping) buttons singly or in combination. The prompts always appear where you would be looking. In the fight example, if someone throws a punch at you, a prompt will appear right at his oncoming arm with a symbol telling you to move the stick to the right or left. Do it in the time alloted, and you will deflect the punch. Fail, and you will take it!
The interesting thing is that the game is set up so that while you may "fail" to do things, the game will go on with the consequences -- you can never fail in such a way that it ends the game. There are four playable characters, and depending on what you do, some of them may or may not die. If they die, the game goes on without them -- with the story changing appropriately. However you end up playing it, you will follow some fairly unique paths. I read an interesting interview with the designer where he acknowledged that the game has replay value due to the different possibilities, but he recommended that you play it once only. Whatever happens, even if the killer goes free at the end, that is your experience and he thinks that you should leave it at that.

Hmmm. I've never been a huge fan of those control schemes, but you have me intrigued. Another one added to the list . . . .
