Voodoo desktop build advice wanted

Well I got the gaming server I wanted to get for the kids bought today. It will need more ram and a harddrive to complete but it's pretty much a done deal. I still have a painting project and a few toughbook cf-18's to sell but I think it's time for me to do some major research on the case I want. I really wanted a original case, but I may not get the chance I want any time soon. So what cases would you all recommend for this? Original style used and even newer styles that may fit the bill. Thanks.

You cant go wrong with a lian li v1000. If you look long enough you can get a good deal on one.

The v2000 is larger but depending on where you are going to keep it you may want to look into one of those as well.

I was thinking of letting an Omen-R or a BB002 case go, but with the new house I have all new storage space to use up If I do let one go I'll keep you all in mind.

You would be lucky to get an omen-r case. Video card cooling is less of a concern because the air has somewhere to go vs the regular omen where it rises off the card a short distance before hitting the top of the case getting trapped around the card.

That is why I made sure to buy the external exhaust version of the 460 as evga also makes one without the shroud I believe. You could just alleviate the entire situation by running water though.

I forget who makes them but a while back I saw the products that give the tubes the vain appearance. They are line kink preventers/stress relievers. Not only are they a good idea but if you are going for an authentic voodoo look with your build they are a must. To my knowledge voodoo used exclusively swift tech blocks in there systems. Alternatively I would consider danger den, They make good stuff.

PO did not specify if it is B.A.M. or Allure but I am guessing B.A.M. I would stick with the bam finish if that is what it has. Its not worth painting it imo because all of the lian li accessories match the bam finish perfectly without alteration. But that's just me, I like swapping components and configurations regularly.

UPS sells boxes. Find out how much a box for it would cost and add it to the cost of the shipping. Make sure you ship it insured because ups has a tendency to destroy packages at random.

Alright you got me, I am going for that genuine look after all. Since voodoo's attention to detail was so extraordinary The best compliment to me is if it looks like I ordered it from them that way.

You'll meet or exceed Voodoo's cable management. It was well done, but it'll make sense once you see how it was done.

I did have it into the shop once to have it cleaned out, so they may have jiggered with the cabling a bit.

But that is what compressed air is for.

I doubt they messed with the cabling though. If they did once you noticed you would have just made them fix it.

The nice thing is sata cables are easier to hide then ide. But it makes the art of cable folding lost forever.

Yeah, I liked the origami work, though even that wasn't overly complicated.

A chance? I think he'll easily duplicate or exceed Voodoo's work, especially once he's had a look at how they did it, which was basically employ longer-than-needed cables and route them around the back of the motherboard. The origami cabling was merely three or four folds to get the IDE cable flat and facing in the correct direction. All in all, a simple, but effective solution and it looked great too.

That is where I shoved all the cables on the omen build. (I remember doing a power supply for somebody a while back on a factory fresh alienware and they did it the same way) I should do fine then.
