Firebird - Graphic card replacement
I am looking to replace my 9800s with something more modern.
And want want to ask this community - what's modern graphic card models are the best for this?
Probably someone can share their experience?

Re: Firebird - Graphic card replacement
I believe the hp firebird is built using proprietary components and chips originally designed for laptops. Not industry standard off the shelf stuff. If there are any upgrade options PO would probably know what they are. Otherwise its time to build a new rig and list the firebird on ebay.
Maybe lago wishes to share his digital storm experience.

The FB used MXM GPUs, so technically up-gradable my HP Dragon uses them too, however it's a pretty pricey upgrade and regarding the FB which was watercooled there are less upgrade solutions that fit. There were a few people, back in the day, willing to try and they spent more on 2 GPUs than they had invested in the FB, ...and sadly I recall they had issues getting the drivers to play nice.

It has been miserable. I wish I had never come back from vacation. The administrator interviews are going to take up a chunk of my weekend, too, but I still want to get it done.

I can sympathize. My week has been completely miserable.

You will be disappointed. Spent all Friday evening and most of Saturday dealing with the new administrator issue, then got my pictures back from South Dakota and spent the rest of the time scanning and tweaking them. Hopefully you will be less disappointed when I upload them and post the album.

Nah, not disappointed. I am glad you found some downtime. Sorry to hear about the admin stuff, though.

I am going to stop at a coffee shop this afternoon with the behemoth and upload the pictures.
