wulfie's updates
Ok.. so .. yay, i'm here!
I basically disappeared off of TNB before it went kablooey since I could barely read it on my iphone and the site was blocked at work, which is where most of my online time is now. It cut off half of the comments, i could only reply sometimes, because the buttons were off the screen and i couldn't scroll to it, etc etc... but.. that was then, this is now.
Got married, got moved. Went to San Fran for the honeymoon and had a lot of fun there..but that's where my bad luck apparently started... We got there and instead of the lovely mustang convertible that I had rented...we got a Grand Marquis. And anyone who's been to San Fran knows that that is NOT the vehicle to be driving around downtown which is where we were staying..so lots of money wasted there, but whatevs...we had a GREAT time there, even if the weather was pretty poor.
We got home and within 2 weeks got a puppy (8 wks old). We weren't planning on getting one quite that quickly, but you have to jump when the chance comes. That was good luck, not bad though... lol. Although the first month and a half of puppy-dom was insane.. i give props to anyone who's EVER had a puppy... lol.
Then things are going ok... my stuff is all still mostly in boxes in our house, but because of the pup, we just haven't had time to do anything since Appa (the dog) is into EVERYTHING and we just can't deal with him and unpack at the same time. Hopefully soon I'll be able to take a day off work and do it though..or at least the majority.
Then I got a new car on July 9th.. and i do mean new car... as in drove it off the lot and it had 12 kms on it. Then anyone in Calgary knows about our lovely July 12 hail storm (this is more bad luck)... new car ... hail... I had to laugh so I wouldn't lose my sanity... It was appraised at just over $11,000 of hail damage. Only the two passenger doors were dent-free. Arg. And the appointment to get it fixed is in October...there goes all the joy of owning a brand new car. It's a VW Jetta (diesel) though..it's still pretty..even if it looks like a golf ball...and according to mythbusters, it's now more aerodynamic.
That's about it...and life goes on.

Congratulations on the marriage -- and on the "baby," of course! Sounds like you are doing well, aside from the weather . . .

Congrats on the wedding and pup, Wulfin.
Don't worry too much about the hail storm. At least you've had your car looked at. I'm still waiting for the adjuster to give me a call!

Ouch!!! My insurance company set up 2 warehouses and brought in adjusters and were cranking out about 10 appraisals an hour .. I thought it was pretty crazy.

Too cute!!!
Wheaton Terriers & Schnauzers are my favorites, ...there is so much personality (dogality?) in their faces!!!

Re: wulfie's updates
That first one is not a puppy -- it is a yeti-to-be!
Both very cute, however!

Re: wulfie's updates
Maybe I have no class, but I kind of like the disheveled, ungroomed look. Not that the pup isn't cute regardless of the hairstyle going on. I'm just saying.

Re: wulfie's updates
Our Cockapoo definitely looks better after a good trimming. Shagginess does not become her.

Re: wulfie's updates
LOL!! Wheatens start dark brown/red and black but start changing colour and go white before they start darkening to their final "wheat" colour at the age of two. Appa was already blonde under all that fur.
As for his cut .. We prefer the shag look too, but it's a cold weather breed. So we've decided that we'll shave him down in the summer to this kind of kennel cut, but let him go long/shaggy from Oct-June.

Re: wulfie's updates
Alright, I showed the pictures to my wife and now she is in love. She wants to know if they shed. (We are assuming not, from the looks of the coat.)

LOL, they do not shed .. They have hair and not fur.
They get to be 17-19 inches at the shoulder and about 45 pounds.

Not sheding, ...one of the top reasons I <3 Mini Schnauzers
BTW, this is Princess Ruedesheim's Summer Kisses & Princess Frida Moneypenny, they are cousins. Can you tell which one is a goofball...?

I was going to ask the same question, but I was too busy throwing up into my mouth.

Re: wulfie's updates
I'm thinking 2 possibilities ..
-named by a little girl .. Or ..
-that's the registered AKC name. Have to keep the kennel name (Appa's reg'd name is Jomaran's Appa ..)

Correct on the 2nd count, they are both Ruedesheim's mini schnauzers, ...Moneypenny was going to carry the Ruedesheim name too but was changed in tribute to someone who passed away of cancer, at that time.
Re: wulfie's updates
W00t!!
I know I toyed with giving Appa something more ornate for his CKC registered name, but decided to keep it as similar to his "street name" as possible since he's not going to be shown.
We're going to do agility, but no conformation and no need to be fancy for that

If I'm reading that correctly, that leaves you with Summer Kisses and Moneypenny. I will give you the latter, but what's up with Summer Kisses?

Re: wulfie's updates
look at all the electronics that kid has access too - when i was that age i was happy to have 5 good rocks to play with - you know you'd throw 1 in the air then try to sweep up as many rocks as you can on the ground while catching the 1 in the air on the backside of your hand.
Then you'd throw all the rocks up in the air and sweep more rocks from the ground while to catch all the rock in the air on the backside of your hand - etc.
If i remember correctly the rocks had to be a very specific size and shape for any success ))
