The OMEN has landed

It came in today. It was tight wrapped in cardboard, taped, had some cushion added onto the ends and tight wrapped in cardboard and tape again. But the glass and unit arrived unbroken. I haven't opened it up yet, or have decided what I should put inside, but at least I can say I have a Omen R now. I think for now I am going to get my gun stuff out and later tonight and get the cold bluing where he drilled the holes to take the shine out of it.

Went ahead and opened it up. The radaitor L brackets (trash) were included, lol. The missing solid door from the front was there, also another door that was solid mesh. Several other screws and brackets and covers were inside.

I asked the seller for a little back history on the case and this is his reply.

I acquired this case from a friend who worked at HP at the time. Right after Voodoo was closed, he was able to get me this case.. I think this was probably 2010? He said the plexi glass side door was a nice bonus as it was quite expensive. Other than that, I don't have much more info.

No buddies that build custom cars? Those holes would weld right up!

My bud would make quick work of them for me. Probably would go as far as hitting it with the die grinder for me. Normally I feel guilty about modding voodoo gear in any way but that one is so fucked id make a project out of her and do custom automotive paint for sure.

Either way I am glad you were able to get her as cheaply as you did. Well done.

Thank you. I still plan to add more later on, but I refuse to pay blood money price for them, lol. Still trying to decide what to drop into it. As now I have the Signed Rage case and this one to put stuff in.

About the only motherboard combo I have left to drop in would be a one with a Phenom X 3 2.3, not quite OMEN status worth, but may have to do until I get the new work shop fully sorted out.


Hope in a few days to have a video of the 52 ford up and running. Been back and forth on it. I did hear it run for a second by pouring gas in. Been sorting out the radiator and fuel lines. Had to swap out the neck on the intake and the lower bolt broke off. I had to pull the intake off. So It has a old Edelbrock Street Master single plane instead of the Holley street Dominator intake on it now.

I think he posted pictures of it around here somewhere (Maybe my brain is playing tricks on me and I am thinking of the pictures posted over on Hard forum by its previous owner when it was for sale)

Also I am really enjoying the icy dock 2.5"x6 in the omen. It is a bit on the expensive side and you have to make sure you use their mounting screws as standard ones are too long. So far I have not had any io errors with it as one person on newegg reported. (it has been giving me trouble free service) However I should note I am using only 1 ssd in it right now (Maybe cross channel talk is a problem for the hotswap backplane? idk) It closely matches the aesthetics of my omen. (slightly different shade of black) All in all I am very satisfied with it. I will probably buy a 2nd one in the near future and look to setup the adaptec sas card.

Yep, I have THAT case. It's in the closet right now. The original owner went to sell it on some forums but no one wanted it. Then it hit ebay. Well I had bid on it then and it was ended early. I messaged the seller but he didn't reply. I found out later on why it was gone from ebay was because another member here knew the guy who had won it and asked him to sell it directly to him off ebay. So the item went to him. Later on (a year or so) I was contacted by him to buy it. At the same time another rage had popped up on ebay and I bid on that one. Well I would up getting that one too. So in one weeks time I had two Rages at the house.

I think I have some of it in that photo album of mine. If not maybe it's time to take some fresh pictures of it. Get a family picture of the Hexx, Omen R, Rage F1, Rage F1, Idol.

Waiting on the base computer to drop in price. That way can have a i5/i7 Idol to go with the Core 2 duo version I have.

You usually don't see green citizen ship deaktops... And if they do they do it the most expensive way possible. They had a blackbird once and they wanted like $300 for shipping

If shipping is that expensive I will just have to not get it, but if I could get shipping for 100 to 120 and get the case for a rocking price I would still get it. Just sent them a second message. Anyone we know around california? lol.


If not I will just have to look for another case. I plan on getting one for my oldest boy one day. It would give him a chassis he could build and rebuild for the rest of his life.

I just looked and for some of the mid height towers they have about 35 bucks shippping, but another big tower (alienware) they got pick up only. Still waiting to see.

In classic style on stuff like this they finally sent a reply asking for more info a hour before the auction end. So no telling who may wind up with it. I hope at least a forum member can get it.
