Re: Master Po's words of wisdom
Iago,
I know about this set and have been checking this link daily for the opertunity to pre-order I would prefer it on Blu ray but I am so happy to finally get the series after many years of waiting.

Re: Master Po's words of wisdom
It has been so many years since I watched it that I cannot remember if it was primarily shot on film or videotape. In the Seventies, most dramas were still shot on film, but sitcoms tended to be shot on tape. The shows that were shot on tape do not benefit from being released in high definition, as they are much lower resolution. Six was likely shot on film, but then you have another problem: if the DVD is mastered from the archived tapes that were used for broadcast, then you are at limited resolution again. The only way that they would benefit from the higher resolution of Blu-Ray would be if they could find the original film elements and re-scan them. That is rather expensive and unlikely to happen (although that is precisely what they are doing for the upcoming Twilight Zone Blu-Rays!)
All that is a lengthy way of telling you that your DVDs will probably look as good as you are going to get, so do not worry about Blu-Ray in this case.

Whoops; the first crossed post of the new boards. My last post should have followed POs. With only the three of us really posting here so far, I did not think that I had to back myself up with the quote button.

I understand that, I do hope that the DVD set is of the best possible quaility TSMDM is my favorite TV show from when I was a kid and I look forward to finally getting it. Did you check the link I posted? if you noticed every time you re visit or re fresh the page there is a different quote under the pic, I think there are 5 taken from the intro narrative.

I have honestly not seen the show (or its spinoff) since it originally aired. I think that it is probably best to be content with my childhood memories!

I mananged to toss an {N-TYSH} out earlier, so between that and the BAG consider these boards officially broken in!

This thread has accomplished a lot: use of anti-emoticon abbreviations, cross-talk with other threads, hijacking and a nod to the moebius.
