Re: The Other Bench Apropos of Nothing #1
Watching that trailer had McCreary's version running through my head all day, so thanks for posting that and getting it out of my system!
I like his music for The Walking Dead, especially when it pays homage to the classics. There is some music early in the first episode that reminds me of Goblin's music in Dawn of the Dead, or even more of the main theme to Lucio Fulchi's Zombi 2:
Interestingly, I saw the trailers for that movie when it first came out in 1979. Needless to say, I was not allowed to see the movie at the time. I actually did not see it until a couple of decades later. But that theme stuck in my head (I would have been 12 at the time) and when I finally saw the movie, it was literally exactly the way that I remembered it.

I only just saw that movie recently myself.
While the movie isn't that good, I always found the opening theme to Cannibal Holocaust to be quite beautiful:

Well, we have talked about that film before, and while I am still willing to defend it, though I would never of course actively promote it!
I liked the music to a lot of Italian horror movies. The Goblin music from Dario Argento's films stands out, needless to say, but there are some other classic examples.
Not Italian, but I also really enjoy the main title music to Phantasm. It may be one of the best pseudo-John Carpenter scores out there:

Very cool. I had forgotten about that movie. It is Carpenter-like. And if you are going to mention Carpenter, we must make mention of one of the greatest Carpenter scores ever:

Classic, but that forces me to counter with one of my favorites (which Carpenter freely admits that he stole from "The Immigrant Song":
It took some searching to find the real soundtrack version -- most of the youtube hits were for covers.

I always thought the poster for Assault looked like it had Michael standing in the background with an assault rifle in hand.
How about "Show Me"?

Christine is one of the few major Carpenter soundtracks that I do not own. Never got around to it. It is on my Amazon wish list -- I will have to grab it one of these days.
I really like the title music that he did with Dave Davies of The Kinks for In the Mouth of Madness:

After watching Seamaster's video, I feel the nearly uncontrollable urge to post the Grape Lady for the hundredth time, but I will follow PO instead -- or perhaps mix the two:

Ye gods. It is a little harder to enjoy watching some of those, considering that the results could not have been good.

Yes. That one is fun.
