Any info on my first-gen RAGE SLi will have to come from East, since it is now in his possession!

Afraid I can't help today, but I will play. We can flesh out the details, put in order of production date and what not. Will probably take several weeks before I can dedicate any real time, but perhaps we can plug away a little at a time.

Re: VOODOO PC Desktop Guide
East your Idol doesn't have the Voodoo sticker on the front either, right?
ps. What about the Epic and Aria, shouldn't they be on the list?

Re: VOODOO PC Desktop Guide
If I remember right talking with east before only the promotional idols had the emblem. The only way to tell if yours was a voodoo was to have the paperwork where you bought it.
The Aria is already on the list, missed the Epic though. I will add this now. I will add more when I get home. At work on the rig got limited access to some of my stuff.
On saving pictures if needed I have a flickr pro account and can host whatever we need.

Do to a production oversight or lack of emblems they were all released without them. Every one that was resold that I have seen has not had it.
Re: VOODOO PC Desktop Guide
The Aopen ones that I have that the Idol is based off of have the Aopen Id sticker on the bottom. What do the idol's have on the bottom?

You can see the sticker I am talking about on the bottom of this unit. Third picture.

Re: VOODOO PC Desktop Guide
I figured they would of at least took the factory sticker off of it. I have only seen the factory Aopen MP-915's in two colors. silver/grey and a lesser seen black color. I can only guess why Aopen swapped the looks of the 915, maybe it was some kind of apple lawsuit? Who knows. I do like the original look better than newer case. I am also glad they didn't swap the internal plugs around too much so it was a drop in fit when I put MP-945 guts in it. Still digging for a cheap 965 to see if it will swap the same. It seems the SATA, dvd drive daughterboard is a hard item to find for them. The place that had close to 700 of them sold out in less than a month. I still kick my ass for not going ahead and ordering the few I needed.

Re: VOODOO PC Desktop Guide
We're missing a Hexx... Synn was the last person I knew to have one... it was the squat little guy with no window
Re: VOODOO PC Desktop Guide
I have been saving pictures off ebay and google searches over the last 2 years. Desktops and Laptops. I still need to load all of them up to my Flickr account and post the pictures up when I get time. Then I need to post up the factory specs under them.
There will be more HEXX pictures when I post my upcoming motherboard swap. That unit is still down after the motherboard stopped reconizing any hard drives. Then I bought two different used setups to drop into it, and both of them wouldn't work including a i7 setup.
I was waiting on the full release of DDR4, but still haven't seen anything I want to put into the HEXX yet. I have seen another x6 2.8 Phenom 2 motherboard combo for just a hair over 100, may get it. It's still up in the air for now. Then just get a DDR4 set up for the other Rage case.

Re: VOODOO PC Desktop Guide
nice
my winter project is to properly clean up and liquid cool my Omen... I'm not posting a before until I have an after... >.>
it's a storied chassis... Bavaria Blue Candy, pre-frosted glass era (much to my chagrin) and it was originally shipped to PC Gamer in 2005 for their Ultimate PC Showdown that year... UPS did as UPS does (but not until the return trip, thank Odin) and it came home pretty beat up so I was able to convince the powers that be to let me have it for a song... but I convinced them to take installments and not start until the next pay cycle, by which time it had been completely forgotten
but the rebuild is also kind of a... prelude?
see, I'm also... uh... gonna see how much of the band I can get back together... <.<

Re: VOODOO PC Desktop Guide
If you want the frosted glass look find an old smashed lcd and get the reflector paper out of it and trim it to fit and attach with some double sided tape.
Did it to mine and it looks sick.

That's a pretty slick DIY trick to fill the gap until I can get a sandblaster again
Re: VOODOO PC Desktop Guide
Finally getting around to uploading pictures, 46 done today. Got about 100 more to do, then I can start sorting to put a face with the name.
