We all have areas that we notice. In my case, movies about moviemaking always stand out as phony, since they never give an accurate view of how films are really shot and put together. On the other hand, I can still "let that go" if the movie is good enough -- The Stuntman springs to mind. Though in that case, you can certainly argue that the entire film is from the point-of-view of Steve Railsback's character, and he is thoroughly confused as to what is happening around him. (His own inability to distinguish fantasy and reality is the point of the picture.)

I also have a hard time when movies show footage supposedly taken from security or hidden cameras, and the footage contains edited footage from multiple angles. For example, in Star Trek III when they view footage of Spock's death supposedly taken from the flight recorder, they simply use clips from Star Trek II, with multiple camera angles, including closeups and long shots. (Helluva flight recorder, that!)

However, while such things prove distracting and temporarily take me "out" of the movie, I would not let that ruin an entire film for me. Personally, I hate undercranked footage like they use in Death Race 2000, but I accept the budget and style of the film for what it is and try to enjoy the movie as a whole. And the movie as a whole is very funny, with some very pointed observations on our enjoyment of violence that have not dated at all.

Hey, if they could get away with it in a Bond movie, why not?

I was not mocking a particularly high point in the Bond series!
