Yes, but what if they mix up the extras?

Possible, but I doubt that. With MGM's financial woes, I do not see them shelling out anything to re-author the discs and press new ones. If they do, it will likely be pretty minimal like adding a 50th anniversary trailer. On the other hand, they could include another bonus disc . . .

Well, Skyfall is the official title:
http://blog.moviefone.com/2011/11/03/james-bond-skyfall/
Not the best title, but not the worst either. The official plot description is a bit vague, but it certainly has possibilities. The most interesting thing is the casual comment from Mendes at the end of the article that Skyfall will be a standalone story and not follow the previous two films. Mind you, for all of the flaws in Quantum of Solace I thought the ending did a nice job of providing closure for Bond with Vesper, so emotionally there is no need to continue, but that comment would seem to indicate that they are dropping the Quantum organizaton for the time being, which will still leave much unexplained.

More from Deadline Hollywood:
http://www.deadline.com/2011/11/%e2%80%98skyfall%e2%80%99-confirmed-as-title-of-new-bond-movie-budget-around-230m-sam-mendes-says-he%e2%80%99s-open-to-follow-up/
I like that fact that Mendes indicated that he is directing the action scenes himself. While not exactly and action director, he is nonetheless very precise in what he wants and it may give the action scenes continuity with the rest of the film -- unlike Quantum or some others.

I'm okay with Quantum being left along for now. There's no real need to explain things further.
Too bad the release date is set for November 2012. Aren't we all supposed to be dead by then? Maybe the Skyfall title isn't so bad after all.

Maybe Eon knows something that we do not!
November is the traditional release date for Bond films, so I doubt that they will ever deviate from that pattern.
Here's to hoping that they finally come to their senses and contact Portishead this time.

I was thinking a spin on "The Sky is Crying" for the opening credit soundtrack.
November is generally a fine month for Bond. Perfect way to combat the early winter chill.

I did read an article recently where one of the Broccoli/Wilsons (I think it was Barbara Broccoli) said that they were considering a few acts for the opening song. We shall see.

O.K., that would be awesome as well! David Arnold is certainly happy working with them. Maybe we are due for another instrumental title sequence?

Nothing wrong with starting a wish list. The bubble won't be popped for a while.

I am getting anxious, though. There is more than a passing chance that I may find myself watching Casino Royale this weekend.

Good choice. You can do worse, given what's been released on Blu (e.g, Moonraker).

Ended up watching West Side Story, Blue Velvet and the new remastered disc of Evil Dead II. Bond may make a good Thanksgiving day treat.

Re: Seamaster and Iago's endless rehashing Bond thread
Indeed. It looks fantastic. The transfer was personally supervised by David Lynch, and he also found 50 minutes worth of deleted scenes that were thought lost for the last 25 years. (Lynch's rough cut was over three hours long.) Despite their age, they look very good and are in HD. The disc also ports over the "Mysteries of Love" documentary from the DVD, so it is well worth the upgrade.

You would have gotten Stevie all by yourself. Incidentally, my discs arrived, although I haven't listened to them yet.

Hopefully mine will arrive tomorrow and I can play with them over the weekend. I cannot wait to hear "Little Wing"!

I spun Soul to Soul. I'm interested to hear what you think.

We shall see when I get home. Not sure if I will get them yet or not. In the meantime, I worked through most of the Jurassic Park Blu-Rays yesterday.

Re: Seamaster and Iago's endless rehashing Bond thread
I did not have time to listen to all of them completely, but I skipped through them for highlights. Sonically, Soul to Soul is the weakest, though it really kicks in with track 5, "Gone Home." I tend to prefer slower blues anyway, but in Vaughan's case it seems like the slower songs have the more impressive sound. Same thing with In Step -- "Riviera Paradise" is a highlight. And of course, "Little Wing" is the best track on all three discs. I did compare it to "Tin Pan Alley" and I think it has a slight edge, strictly in terms of sound quality. The former is still a great demo track though, never fear.
In general, compared to most modern remastering jobs, which over-utilize compression to make the music louder and punchier, MoFi did a good job of respecting the original material. I think that it will take a few careful listening sessions to really appreciate them.
