Okay I pretended I was driving GOLF R(it doesn't really matter a stick shift car). After going 6 miles in about an hour I will wait for DSG.

I did not freeze-frame it, but does he have the AC on? The climate control panel is lit up in a few places. Might account for his slower times.

I don't doubt that DSG is faster in a straight line, but I wonder if that margin narrows on a track or on a bendy road. A 5 to 2, or 4 to 2 downshift will feel more natural with a stick shift than it would double- or triple-tapping a paddle, or, even worse, letting the auto transmission figure it out.

Plus, I still think the stick shift offers a better feel and driving experience, but I can see why someone would want the DSG.
