Re: SWTOR - Limited Edition
I must have misunderstood you; I thought that you said that you had already played it.

I've played the original, which I thought was great. And I was going to pick up Part 2 when it first came out, but never got around to it.

Re: SWTOR - Limited Edition
The graphics are definitely a bit dated (though surprisingly they do hold up pretty well for DX9) but holy cow, is it ever fun. It grabs you right from the patented Valve opening-in-engine-cutscene-on-rails, and immediately introduces a new character that is priceless. I had forgotten how enormously frustrating the game can be -- and how immensely satisfying once you figure out the solutions.

There is nothing like a "doh" moment to brighten your day.
I'm going to pick Portal 2 up, but it will have to wait until after December 5, which is when I sit my next final.

Keep us posted on that!
In the meantime, Skyrim is king right now. It has some flaws but has an amazing number of moments that will bring a smile to your face -- and not because of humor, but because it is so cool. The first time that you see the Northern Lights is awesome, and I just found a spectacular cavern with incredibly high vaulted ceilings and waterfalls pouring down out of an opening at the top. But my favorite moment so far was when I dove into the first river and found out that you could catch salmon bare-handed underwater, but then I climbed out before reaching some rapids and saw that the salmon were apparently spawning and swimming upstream, jumping up the rapids. I found out that you could catch them in mid-air!

Re: SWTOR - Limited Edition
Shivrael pre-purchased SW:TOR for me and I've been in the beta for a couple of months now... this game has revitalized my love of both Star Wars and BioWare's Old Republic series... I'm really looking forward to it.
Re: SWTOR - Limited Edition
It would take more than an MMO to revitalize my interest in Star Wars at this point. KOTOR was certainly fun, but in a way the only Star Wars game that really looked and felt authentic to me was the original Dark Forces. Not even its sequel Jedi Knight, which was generally considered to be a better game, felt like true Star Wars to me. And since George Lucas has decided that true Star Wars is subject to constant change without notice, I give up!

Is the last member of a school of fish the sole survivor?

Not sure, but if the fish survived, it must have heart and sole.

And, in the meantime, I am still blissfully devoting the hours to Skyrim. No love of Star Wars needed!

I hear so much great things about this game (skyrim), for whatever reason doesn't interest me....

Re: SWTOR - Limited Edition
Think of it as an MMO minus the grind. I have only hit a couple of spots so far that felt a little "grindy." I have hit countless other spots that brought a huge smile to my face!
