that m11x r1 is a mini toughbook. how much did you pay for it?

Since the hinge was broke and the screen didn't "work" I got it for a little over 300. The screen was showing a picture but no backlight. Because of the left hinge being broke it had pulled the cable out some. I was very surprised when it came in the original box, original paper work, charger, restore disk, etc. I just finished fixing it a few minutes ago. I backed off the tension some on the hinge. Then I couldn't use the screws on the left side because the plastic that held them on the lid was broke. I took the screws out and used thin stainless steel tie were and tightened it with pliers. I looks like it's going to hold. Loading drivers on it now.

i got my x60 with a dead backlight. I thought it was a faulty inverter but the actual backlight tube had blown. I had a spare out of a smashed x40 lcd but it was a pita to swap. Works fine though.

Any of us get it?

IF the buyer isn't one of us and then goes to deadbeat status let us know.

Not me. You guys know I only pay $300 max for the desktops. That bid of 300 it took ADOR 2 days to overthrow was mine

I put in like 333 as my top. I had just a little more than 400 to spend. I had to keep up with shipping too. If that guy would of come up with the cash for that toughbook I would have went as high as 500. Oh well. Guess I will be waiting for "next time" again.

A total of $300 to $400 seems fair, especially for dated hardware that's likely to be purged. Makes for a semi-pricey case when you think about it that way, and considering it's used.

Kinda bummed this didn't to one of you guys. I was almost positive it would. I was looking forward to seeing what one of you guys would have done to it.

So since some of us have our income taxes back finally do you have any other voodoo desktops you plan on getting rid of?

Wife is pressuring me to get rid of the Omen. I also have a Rage so I'm undecided to which to get rid of. And considering the wifey was forced to resign (or she would get terminated).

If you are short on cash I am still willing to give you something for those m855 recovery discs and the binder.

Oh and given the choice you will want to keep the omen case. Modern components fit in it rather nicely compared to the rage which is considerably more difficult.

If you do get rid of one Blur just let me know.

Yup...She got the short end of the deal, they made an example out of her. Her supervisor told her to resign or she will be terminated. Since the wifey and the supervisor are good friends she gave her the heads up.

No employment as of this Monday.

I would hold out for termination so that at least I could collect unemployment but that is just me.

They have instructed most of our supervisors at work to get people to leave on there own rather than fire them. IF they fire them or lay them off they have to pay higher taxes to unemployment for the more people they let go, but if they leave on there own they don't pay the higher tax.

The fact that it is a nasty job market out there makes it easier to get away with treating people like that. Unfortunate that Blur's family got stung in this case!

That sucks, on several fronts. Sorry to hear the bad news.

Were okay at the moment. I'm actually interviewing for a new job that doesn't require me to travel, give me more time to stay at home. The only downfall would be I would take a pay cut. There were 180 of us who tested and only 25 made it through the interview process. Not really a good time looking for a job, but I'm burn't out on traveling.
