i would hold out for $600 plus shipping if its running alright. Not that its worth that but that's the minimum id part with mine for if i was in the market to sell it.

Well, that would not have been my first guess of middle-age crisis hobbies, but whatever works for you!

Re: So i'm thinking of selling my voodoo envy u709...
One of these days I want to build a 3d printer.
Re: So i'm thinking of selling my voodoo envy u709...
One of these days, I would like to build a lot of things, but none of them are likely to happen. This is the one that I keep flirting with, but it is a pretty expensive hobby to get in to:

Nothing as practical as Hong's new hobby, I suppose, but still!

And here I was thinking king had a new balisong collection going or something. Mind you, that would be highly illegal in the state of New York.
Iago: That looks terribly cool. Prohibitively pricey?

Something tells me that Hong might be very familiar with legalities in New York!
Seamaster: The more advanced and fancier model kits go for several hundreds of dollars. The one that I posted the picture of is one that I was considering as part of a "Entry-Level Combo" that Nature's Coast offers, including all tools and books that you would need to get into the hobby. The combo goes for a not-inconsiderable $329. To show you where things can go, here is an advanced level kit of the H.M.S. Surprise that goes for a cool $700:

Seamaster:
i actually used to have a balisong... but back in the days, we called it a butterfly knife... lol?
Iago:
that is one amazing build!
i would also love to build something like that... but i think that requires a TON of patience...
i could actually use my cncrouter to rout out some parts for it... hmmmmmmmm
oh, and btw, yea, i saw kits go from $100 to upwards of $900
but i also heard the well built ones sell for a couple of grand...

Re: So i'm thinking of selling my voodoo envy u709...
See, I knew that post was not off-topic -- you managed to return it to CNC routers!
I have done paper models for years, which require extraordinary patience. Some of the bigger ones that I did took 3-6 months to complete. I kind of burned myself out on them, though, which is why I thought about trying something different. I love wooden ships, so that seemed natural. The tough part with the entry price to the hobby is, what if it turns out that I suck at at? $300 is a bit much to drop on trying and failing. But I will probably try it sooner or later.

I'd be willing to drop $300 to test a hobby I thought I might like. I did just that to figure out if I'd enjoy flying RC helicopters. I got my money's worth.

Dam I am head deep in work stuff in getting my passport right, then jump into a engine swapping frenzy in the 52 ford and this pops up. lol.
Anyway back for right now. Went from the 250 six to 292/312 Y block back to six, back to the Y block and now firmly bolted in and everything is matching up so it will work with out at on of fab work is the roller cam 302 and FMX.

I would have to see what He want's for it and how much I have left to play with. Bought a lot of stuff for the 52 over the last week. I should have it fired up in a few more days.
Now what is this I hear about a HEXX?

Re: So i'm thinking of selling my voodoo envy u709...
I have sold one to Max Carnage....hahaha
I have another I would have to get rid of it currently housing a MSI K8N Diamond Plus 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 ATX AMD Motherboard (the fan is going bad on the northbridge I have a replacement but never got around to changing it out), with Opteron 185 with stock amd fan(i might have the box somewhere), nvidia evga 7950gt with zalman fan, currently has 3 640gb hdd 2.5 harddrives(but those I will keep), seasonic psu(not modular). Can't think of anything else. Currently serving as a home server with MS homeserver 2011.
How much not sure.
