What do you guys think about this used car?

I'm thinking i can talk that price down + i suspect at that mileage it will need a new timing belt and water pump + i'd get the windows tinted to deter theft of contents.

I like WRXs, although I like the STI or sedan better, ...however, I do see the practicality in the wagon.

A friend has a 2.5l turbo, and I thought his biggest service (that included a timing belt) was at 105k miles...? In SoCal we have a lot of independent shops that tune WRXs so prices for repair work are pretty competitive, which is good if you own one here.

They're good cars, but be prepared to be taken for a boy racer. Everyone will want to drag.

The 2006 wrx has the 2.5 vs the 2.0, so basically more torque.

Want to get back into manual transmission - i miss them. My last manual was my fathers old pickup we retired about 11 years ago.

I like the wagon version else could also be looking at a used Infinity G35x AWD but no wagons.

Prices are cheap nowadays as the market is flooded with new and used cars all over.

The WRX is probably your best bet since you want the utility of a hatch. They are very good cars and perform well. Under extreme cornering, they do have a tendency to understeer, but I doubt you will ever push the car to its limits. That's something you'd only really do on a track.
