They worked great for me. Ask for pictures, and get honest-to-God videos instead! It looks wonderful, ethelred.

Don't know what to say. I can see them fine from my computers at home even though I uploaded the videos at work. I tried accessing them on Youtube by doing a search for MrEthelred and found them there. For those of you who try it, there is also a video shot at night last year. I have since repositioned the lights for better effect.
Glad the rest of you can see them ok.

Forget the "connection", I don't even subscribe anymore:

Yes, to reality, among other things.
Got it to work today, though. Nice water features. I assume this was something you built on your acreage, ethelred?

Re: Dishes by any other name
Maybe you can post some pictures of the one that you built at the golf course as well?

Yup. The large one is an 8 foot spun aluminum Birdview C-band dish and the 2 smaller ones are 30" models formerly used for DirecTV.
The large dish is mounted on a maple tree stump that I didn'f feel like grubbing out. Actually we had been looking for someplace to build a fountain with the left over stuff we had from the fountains and ponds that had been at the golf course, when the wind damaged a tree in our front yard to the point that it had split down the center and had to be taken out. The location proved to be perfect -- close enought to our deck so that we can hear it, and close enough to the road that it can be observed from there as well.
Iago, I'll see what I can find of the golf course fountain. I know I have some night-time video around somewhere.

Re: Dishes by any other name
This video was shot at the end of May in 2007 at dusk with a night shot showing the lights at the end. The flowers had been planted a week before and were not yet in full bloom. I have a longer version of this video that I enjoy listening to as much as watching. I hope you enjoy it also...

Very cool; that even seems to be the angle that we saw it from while we were inside the club -- though if memory serves, it was not running at the time.

When you visited it was later in the year. Leaves and cold temperatures were causing problems with water flow so I had already shut it down for the season.

Well, it would have been on the way home from the Chicago Marathon, so that would mean the first or second weekend in October.

36 degrees here this AM. Won't be long and I will be shutting the dish fountain down as well.

Yes, it was a culture shock coming home -- although it looks like it is going to get up to 70 or so today. (Yes, PO, you can keep your temperatures to yourself!)

Re: Dishes by any other name
It has stayed in the lower 70s during the day so far this week, so not so bad. It is starting to get colder at night, however!
