The lost art of cable folding
I have been wanting to re read this article for quite some time now but I was having difficulty finding a copy that was still in existence. luckily tonight I located it. Here it is for anybody else that wants to read it. Given nobody uses ide cables anymore but seeing that front panel wiring just inspired me. (Just in time too considering I am starting to pick out components for my omen build (Finally)

Re: The lost art of cable folding
I enjoyed reading that article when it first came out. I loved the concept of origami cabling and Voodoo had the tidiest cabling in the business. It is one of the main reasons I bought a Voodoo. Once I saw what they had done, I realized it was actually easy to do. I mimic their work whenever a build a computer now. I'm also pretty tidy with cabling in general, but I have to be a bit more liberal with home theatre. Some cables don't like to run alongside one another and can introduce interference if you bundle too tightly together.

My RAGE still looks neat 'n' tidy through the window . . .
But I also worry much less about the home theatre. I do not like parallel cables, especially when there are power cords involved.

Re: The lost art of cable folding
This is what I have come up with so far from studying the pdf and looking at pictures of various voodoo omens in my picture collection.
(hmm I am also going to need to find some shorter sata cables that look nice)
(Don't mind the twist ties, I like using them when planning cable management prior to using one time use wire ties)
The only thing is I cant figure out where to hide the red and black brad that powers the front leds and card reader. I am thinking about sleeving it and leaving it in plain sight unless you guys have a better idea. Origenally voodoo left the usb and firewire cables in plain sight, So I figured I would just bundle them with that once sleeved.
(As best I can tell they hid it behind the radiator, Which brings me to my next decision, liquid or air cooled) (I am leaning toward air, but more on that in my projects thread)

Voodoo would also use custom cable lengths, so you might have to make some concessions. Regarding LED and card-reader cables: If you can find longer cables, you can run the cables down to the bottom of the case, along the bottom and back up to the LEDs and card-reader (using double-sided tape or a dab of glue to hold the cables in place). The cables will still be in plain sight, but won't be left hanging.
Cooling options are your call. Liquid is nice, but air is much cheaper and less hassle. I've always gone the air route for those reasons.

Never had a water-cooled rig.
