Problems with the Envy 133 Empty Problems with the Envy 133

Post  Jegersnutse Thu Nov 03, 2011 2:41 pm

School usage is taking its toll on my Envy, although packed in the best neoprene sleeve, the lid is no longer what it used to be..

Not sure if you can see it in the picture put it is the little cover around the cables and all the other thing down there ;P that has come loose...
My question is if I just can rip it off, apply some glue, and put it back it, or if I have to do some other things?? :S

Also if someone knows how to remove the keyboard it would be nice to know to clean it and stuff...

Thanks elephant

It looks like the snap clips that hold the lcd bezel together are broken. I wouldn't glue it as that will make servicing the screen impossible. The only right way to repair it is to source replacement parts. I would think that hp should still have stuff lying around for it. Its not that old...

Quick as always East! Thanks Very Happy
Guess I will have to live with it that way then, until someone sells a broken/for parts Envy again...

Try to get one that somebody spilled something on. That way hopefully the plastics will be intact vs something somebody dropped.

I recall that with the battery removed you will see a couple screws (under a tape cover) that when removed release the keyboard.

Hence RIGHT. Although I am sure chowbow would argue the point.

He'd likely to have photographic evidence to accompany his argument.

I found the perfect parts donor machine. Cause of death: water spill. You should pm him and confirm all plastics are intact and undamaged before bidding.

He claims it was turned off at the time of the water spill but if the battery was in place chances are something still got fried. (That is exactly how I killed an old dell cpx, I was more careful with my cola after that)
