Anything anyone can do, the muppets did better.
(I was going to link to them doing that song on the Muppet Show, but sadly it does not appear to be on youtube. But just pretend that the self-referential joke worked.)

Got it. You'll have to excuse me. I'm a bit slow at times.

Not sure that it is the coolest ever, but it is definitely very, very cool. I need to watch that series again.
I wonder if that version of "All Along The Watch Tower" would resonate with us as strongly had we not have watched the series? Notes from that song were a tease for an entire season until the reveal of the Final Five. Classic.

Yes, I was employing hyperbole, but it is really, really cool nonetheless. I wonder how long it took McCreary to teach Katee Sackhoff that simply melody line!
There is a whole series of videos on youtube with McCreary playing solo piano versions of all the themes from the series. Check it out -- quite cool.
I have been tempted to start rewatching the series, too . . .

Speaking for myself, I never caught on for the entire season, even though the notes sounded vaguely familiar.
I have checked out quite a bit of the youtube videos on McCreary and they are interesting. Incidentally, McCreary also composes the music for The Walking Dead.

Indeed. Have you watched any of the episode for season two, or are you waiting for disc?

Waiting for the discs. I like Blu-ray quality too much and enjoy watching programs in the highest quality possible.

Yes, even broadcast HD falls so short of Blu-Ray quality. I have even been impressed by how good shows like South Park and the new Beavis and Butthead look on Blu, and those are "only" 1080i!

Re: Miscellanous music thread
I was naive about how good animation could look in HD. I wrongly assumed that it wouldn't make much difference and that 480i was good enough for most animation. How sorely wrong I was.

Re: Miscellanous music thread
Beavis and South Park are both produced in 1080i. I made the mistake of underestimating that -- I would be hard pressed to tell the difference between that and a program produced in 1080p, at least where animation is concerned.
I also picked up the first Loony Tunes collection and those are absolutely gorgeous in HD. You can see the textures of the ink itself.

Re: Miscellanous music thread
Amazon US had the "fancy" set with all the unneccesary collectible goodies for $34.99 so I grabbed that. Now I will be in a quandary as they release future volumes: will I shell out the extra money on those sets just to be consistent with the first one?

Re: Miscellanous music thread
No quandary at all. You must stick with the Platinum sets (or did you get something else?).

Re: Miscellanous music thread
The Blu-Ray is called the Platinum collection regardless of which version that you get. I ended up with the "Ultimate Collector's Edition" of the same thing, which has the identical Blu-Ray digibook but adds some trinkets to go with it: a mini-litho cell, a shot glass, and some other things:

Normally I would not bother with any of that stuff, but that price was even cheaper than the cheapest price that I have seen the "plain vanilla" Platinum Collection. Hence the quandary when the future volumes are released: do I shell out the bucks for stuff that I do not want just so that it matches my first volume, or do I not worry about it? (Or do I just wait for the inevitable Gold Box prices after those are released?)
I am pretty backed up with discs right now, and Game of Thrones is released tomorrow . . .

You're asking the wrong person. I'm wired and like things to match.

I know. Posing the question to you was mainly a rhetorical effort.
