They are touring parts of Canada in June, starting in Vancouver and heading east.

Surprisingly, I missed out on tickets in Calgary, so I bought tickets for Edmonton. Then, I looked into the venues and found out that they are playing in an auditorium in Saskatoon, which should offer better acoustics. So, I bought tickets there too. Saskatoon is about a seven-hour drive from Calgary, so I will make a small road trip out of the deal.

A solo effort:

I missed The Arcade Fire while Eve and I were on vacation on the East coast, so I really could not complain. I am sure that the Keys have played around these parts, but I do not remember seeing anything about it.

My other favorite AC/DC blues shuffle (poor quality, but the only live version that I could find with Bon Scott):

Still a good song, despite the playback quality.

The smoother side of blues:

A true classic.

This one gets off to a slow start and the sound quality is poor, but these two have fun:

And another great duo, which I think I might have posted before, but what the heck:

All cool videos.

I have not picked it up yet because I got my nose out of joint over the shipping. Amazon did not have it available for preorder, but now that it is released they have it for $24.98 with free shipping. I will order it from them.

Best blues ever:

Huh. I just checked Amazon.ca and they, too, have it available with free shipping. I'll be.

Not sure why your post made me think of this:

That is the only Sam Peckinpah movie that I have never seen -- out of respect for Peckinpah!

Well. I was trying to find a youtube version of one of my favorite songs from an unreleased soundtrack -- the song "I'd Rather Be a Wanderer" from the end of George Romero's movie Knightriders. No luck on youtube, so I googled instead and sure enough they DID finally release a limited edition soundtrack which was on Amazon, and I just ordered the last copy. Frabjous day. It says that it is a limited edition of 3000 copies, which makes it sound like a LaLa Land release, but I cannot find it on their website, even in the out-of-print section. (I treasure my limited edition LaLa Land soundtrack to the Batman animated series like no other disc!)

In the meantime, you will have to settle for his music from the intro to Tales from the Darkside:

Not much, but all that I could find!

Well. A bit more research, and it is a very interesting label called Perseverance Records:

http://www.perseverancerecords.com/index.html

And it was actually a limited edition of only 1000 units, not 3000! Read the home page; it looks like an entirely self-financed label which is a labor of love.

I have heard of the label. Another song from a soundtrack available under the Perserverence label:

Have you ever seen Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker? This is the closing credits music with Kenny Wayne Shepard on guitar:

Bad Agent!

I have only seen clips from Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker. The track you linked to reminds me a bit of The Cure's version of "Purple Haze" (I could not find a decent video, so this will have to do):

Interesting.

Here is the main title from the Batman Beyond series. It started life as an experimental track by composer Kristopher Carter titled "Smells like Creamed Spinach."

Return of the Joker is arguably one of the finest of all the WB animated direct-to-video movies, but you do need to watch a few episodes of the series first to appreciate it.

Funny how some of the newer cartoon series have theme songs that are rock- or punk-based:

I have not watched any of those.

My Amazon order with the Knightriders soundtrack already shipped. I am thrilled beyond repair. As a result, I am going to force you to watch the film's rather cheesy trailer, but at least it prominently features Rubenstein's score (though not the song, dammit):

You have never seen Knightriders? Get on it! It may never hit Blu-Ray, but there is a fine quality Anchor Bay DVD that you may still be able to pick up a used copy of. It is one of my favorite films. The basic premise may seem silly, but it is a surprisingly deep look at the difficulty of living by a particular code in a world that wants nothing to do with it. The film can be taken as a metaphor for many different things (it is commonly seen as a commentary by Romero on the difficulties of independent filmmaking.)

A better way to end the work week:

Mr. Fantasy wins that round!

You do know my problem with used discs, right? Nevertheless, since you recommend the film so highly, I will now have to track down a copy.

Actually, I checked on Amazon and it looks like Anchor Bay has reissued it (with inferior cover art, but at least it is new.)

I cannot listen right now, but I will try your clip later. Try this in the meantime (I cannot listen, so I hope I picked a good version):

It's not bad, but is a little sedate for my liking. If we're going sedate, I also like a brooding undertone:
