Re: My voodoo collection
Well I got the one aopen/IDOL in. I have only been able to run ubuntu 10.10 since I am out of IDE harddrives. I like it and it works well. The guy says he has more. Like 8 or so. I am trying to work out a deal for a couple of more. The only problem he said is the fan is noisy on them.

My idol is silent. The fan must be shot. I never bothered to open mine but it may use a standard fan or a fan that can be cannibalized off of an old graphics card.
Re: My voodoo collection
I have a 2.0 Pentium M lying around in my parts stash. I think I am going to drop it in the next couple of days. That or the 1.73 Pentium M. It has a 1.4 in it now. It has only one GB of ram in it. The reviews I have seen online say that this is the max. Have any of you ever got it over 1GB?

Yeah, 1 GB was the max for that model.

Is this something you made? Are you selling them?
If so put me down for one.
Nice to hear from you Roz.

Those little Voodoo charms were made around the time of Calgary's first voodoopalooza, i think we hung them off the lanyards, so anyone who came to that got one. Seamaster did you?

Yep, I've got one of the Voodoo doodads. Along with my Voodoo coffee mug and T-shirt from that event. I still use them.

Very nice man. I have seen your system in other places around the net. I was just looking at it again recently for some ideas because I am about to acquire lago's rage case.
Re: My voodoo collection
Thanks! What do you have planned for Lago's case?

1155, 16gb of ram full blow water cooling. The usual.
The challenging part will be the water cooling though. I have never messed with it up until now
I am at a loss what direction to go on the mobo though. I will never buy another asus as long as I live and evga is too damn buggy.
How did you like the gigabyte you were running previously? I have heard good things about them from friends that are running them. The last gigabyte board I owned was a 478 and I was very satisfied with it but back then it was easy to find a decent motherboard.
In case you havnt seen this is my current rig more or less.
About the only change is I neatened up the cabling a bit more since then so now it is as close to invisible as you can get. I will have to get you a pic the camera is currently charging.

Re: My voodoo collection
I was really into water cooling a couple of years ago but I got tired or changing the coolant every 6 months which requires a complete tear down of the system. I just want something low maintenance and reliable now.
Your going to have a heck of a time trying to fit a radiator in the Rage case. If you don't want to hack up your case your only option would be to use a single 120mm rad where the backlid voodoo cutout is. I don't think its possible to fit a 2x120mm rad, other than the bottom of the case, but your going to have to seriously rethink the airflow. Your Omen is far better suited for water cooling.
My Gigabyte mobo is pretty bulletproof but it sure is ugly. The innards of my Rage actually came from a Falcon Northwest MachV that I ordered 1.5 years ago, so it wasn't my first choice. I really like the Asus ROG mobos. What do you have against Asus?
Yes, definitely post more pics of your Voodoo cases! I have a black anodized Eden sitting in storage. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it.

Re: My voodoo collection
Here one of my old rigs. The single 120mm rad uptop was barely enough to cool my oc'd 2.4ghz 478 P4, 875P NB and stock 5800 Ultra. If your thinking about watercooling your Rage, the layout would be similar to this, except your probably only be cooling the CPU.
