Re: The 83's Project Thread
Ironically, I woke up today with K-Tron reminding us on FB that today is "Convoy" day...
"Arizona, noon on the 7th of June when they high-balled over the pass. Bulldog Mack with a can on the back and a Jaguar hauling ass"

As long as we are talking about trucking songs and CW McCall I suppose that brings us to wolf creek pass.
Re: The 83's Project Thread
That's one country song that I can I actually listen to.
Iago: I just picked up the season as well.

Re: The 83's Project Thread
Yes, I'm done with Season 4. The season ending is great.
Jericho was good, although a little cheesy at times. Season 2 went by a little too quickly and had a different flavour from Season 1, but at least the show's creators were given the opportunity to wrap up the story.

The Breaking Bad RPG. Now that you are done with season 4, you need to watch it again when you have the chance.

Re: The 83's Project Thread
Just ordered quarter skins and the battery tray. I would have preferred full quarters but they are not reproduced.
Re: The 83's Project Thread
O.K., define "quarter skins" for the mechanically disinclined.

Re: The 83's Project Thread
But only the skin or outer portion of the fender. With a skin, the full quarter (made of heavier gauge) remains on the car. The bad portion (skin) should be completely removed and the new skin fitted edge to edge and finished.

Re: The 83's Project Thread
Exactly. The skin does not include the sail panel or door jam area that the oem quarter would include. It is harder to install a skin vs a factory quarter as the skin has to be fabricated to the existing metal. Where as if you were to replace the entire quarter with an oem style panel it would just be a matter of drilling out the spot welds aligning the panel and re welding.
The problem is that for my year bird the full factory style quarter is not reproduced. The only product on the market are skins. Luckily my door jam area is good on both sides and I don't see any evidence of damage on either sail panel. Although the car was painted at one point so who knows whats underneath. There is a spot of bondo coming through on the drivers door, That along with the rust is what made me decide to get replacement doors.
