By the way ADOR I belive this is the tape that voodoo origenally used for everything from holding glass panels in place to ccfl lights to cable management. Its called 3M Double Sided Black Foam Tape.

It might be useful to know should you get that signed rage case with the broken glass. I was looking into it for my new led case light. I will have to get some and mount it more securely.

I also pm'ed that info to the seller on ebay so hopefully he can fix it properly.

I and ADOR both considered bidding on it but it was not worth anywhere near what it was going for. The last seller clearly stated it had bad video/motherboard. Now the buyer appears to have listed it dirt cheap after realizing working motherboards are far and few between. I am still remotely interested depending on how the bidding goes.

Thanks EAST. How have everyone been? I am back at home finally and have good internet. Then the first few days I have been MIA because of a busted wisdom tooth. Got it pulled yesterday and it's a lot better now. I have been looking but never seen that rage relisted, he never replied to me if he would sell it with the broken glass.

I guess I should of checked here first. I seen that it was relisted and have first bid on it. so let's make sure it goes to a good home. Either or is fine, lol.

Ok East it's getting close to the wire on that voodoo case. What are you planning on bidding up to? lol or do you still want it?

I will probably bid on the yellow voodoo provided it stays low enough. I would be interested in rebuilding it as a paper weight for now. I have everything it would need with the exception of a spare working motherboard. The yellow hides it well but it appears to have minimal scratches. (compared to some of my previously acquired ones anyway)

It sucks about the tooth. If I remember correctly lago chipped one a month or 2 back at work.

In regard to the signed rage I am thinking he is having second thoughts about selling it. If he really wanted to get rid of it I cant imagine why he wouldn't get the new glass in it or sell it the way it is.

I had first bid on it before I came here and see you had posted on it, lol. So my first bid goes up to 14.88. So when you get past that it's yours. I have got a couple of sagers for parts right now I am looking at.

I don't really need a board, Only if I win the yellow voodoo. I would stick it on the back burner until I find a board for it just like I did with the blue voodoo.

What problems are you having with yours that you needed a replacement board?

I once looked at putting one of those sis based boards into a d87p and it looked radically different so I passed.

If I remember correctly my concerns were

1. The hard drive area. The d87p uses duel hard drives Its clearly a different design and may or not be able to be made to work
2. The subwoofer is on the other side of the unit. The cmos battery could be hidden inside the unit.
3. The heat spreader plate under the keyboard. (The one from the d47v would have to be made to work in the d87p although it might be a direct bolt in)

D47V are not that hard to come by as they do not seem to blow up like the d87p series do. If you can make it work its probably the best way to repair a d87 series laptop

There is always this d47k motherboard too.

I am fairly sure that the error is being caused by a faulty media card reader modem or wifi card. It appears to be a simple irq conflict. In the very worst case re flashing the bios should fix it. I owned a d47k parts machine with a fried motherboard in the past though. It is too different to fit in a d87p.

Mine isn't having any problems, just trying to get some spare parts up just in-case or If I was to run across a compatible voodoo case.

I bid about what I paid for the blue one a while back and got snipped out of it in the last 2 seconds.

Well onto the next project. Modifying the case from a fried wsb24 to fit a loose wrt54g router motherboard. Time to break out the dremel tool and maybe some duct tape. I was looking at the wrt54g mod guide and its a version 2. How lucky since thats the version with the faster cpu but before they cut the amount of on board flash memory so I can a full version of ddwrt on it vs the lite one.

Another envy 133 got listed It looks to be in nice condition.

I did finally get the lanbox travel style desktop I have been wanting with the handle. I will have to start planning on upgrades for the motherboard, cpu, ram and graphics now, lol. I may throw one of the older cards I have lying around and try it out. I have PNY 512 7600 GS and PNY 1GB 250GT and see what the max cpu I can throw in the current motherboard is while planning. Maybe next time in another voodoo desktop will pop up on ebay, finally.

That LCD is a official accessory you could add. From what I have seen lately it's hard as hell to find one with the built in carry handle.

I just told our friend in the other thread about it who is in search of replacement plastics. Parts for these are far and few in between so I do not know how wise it would be to buy one for parts. At least with the other voodoo laptops they have a generic counterpart to rob parts off of.
